GosFes seeks to reach the Community with a vision
to change and challenge negativities around community and diversities. Working at the grassroots level within local communities, allows those in this position to directly influence behavior and choices. The development of relationships and one-on-one interaction makes this a job perfect for those who wish to make a difference at the community level.

Function of GosFes

Is to reach out to the community by organizing
and carrying out various Events (Festivals}, Educational programs and assistance to members of the community. This job involves overseeing workshops and programs. GosFes focuses on contact with community members through the first-hand delivery of programming. The position includes the planning and development of this programming, then implementation and evaluation. This position may also serve as a liaison between other organizations within the community that share similar goals.GosFes is a nonprofit organization. Community outreach is often responsible for overseeing educational programming and also for networking with other organizations
through task force jobs.

"I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new administrator of GosFes, having lived in south Birmingham for my whole life I never knew projects like GosFes existed, so it was a large learning curve for me but one which I am enjoying. IIam very excited to be part of such a positive program!!! The work that I am doing is not just work that I enjoy but it is very inspiring ,To see that from one mans dream and aspirations such a successful event has been formed. Music has always been a passion of mine as I feel it is a universal thing capable of bringing people from all walks of life together, so to be apart of an organization that embraces music and uses it as a tool is a highly positive experience. I personally believe that in today's society not enough focus is put on the struggles affecting everyday people especially youths. So to have an event that encourages people to come together and learn from one another is something that I feel there needs to be more of to reassure and show people that there is hope and joy still present in this world."
